Lawn grubs, those white ones often do that to flex pipe. I've literally dug it up and seen them eating it. I guess termites can too but never saw them on it.
Good to know as well. Thanks for sharing. Hard rigid Sch 40 pipe is the best way to go on pool plumbing. Not only to prevent insect damage but better hydraulics because the rigid pipe is slick on the inside to create less restriction on the water flow.

Want to epoxy coat my stairs...pool is pumped down for new coping so I'd like to do it now any suggestions on what product to use? Want it white to make it look new...no cracks just dirty and faded
So I have black blisters popping up on my fiberglass steps that I can no longer scrub away. I have a vinyl lined in ground pool. The steps are from around 2005-2010 at best guess. Is this my best option? I don’t know anyone in NE Georgia that does this? Last thing I want is to have to remove and replace.

Should I insist my pool company replace the flex PVC with rigid before they pour the concrete patio right over it??? There are moles and previously termites in area.
your pool is in chlorine water longer then a brick dude.. i had a pool with the ecofinish pacific blue, the pool shop put to much pool chlorine in and it went white under the water line. took about 12 months before i found out. cost me more to fix.

Isn’t there a long dry time with epoxy? I’ve heard it’s risky to have our vinyl pool drained for too long.

What paint is used to paint the steps?
If the steps aren't too big it might be cost effective to use spray cans of gelcoat. Dolphinite makes them, and will do custom colors so you can match the rest of your project. You'll still have to do the prep work, but you won't need spray equipment, gel coat, mixing prowess, or clean up.

I did not see the mechanics or hidraulics to action the floor
Maybe they did it after everything was covered. The big thing on the bottom looked like a winch and you could see pulleys on the frame. So I believe it's a pulley system linked to the winch at the bottom of the pool. Not a hydraulic system. I wonder what they will do with the hole on the left and right though. I also was wondering what they were drilling at the top in the beginning. But since they attached the frame to it I can only assume those are the safety pins which lock and retract when floor reaches the top or wants to go down respectively.
